The Woodson Warriors Scholarships fund started in 2019 as a silent auction of Jane Bunker’s paintings that raised $43,000. This money was used to create scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 that were awarded to ten African American college-bound scholars, and $250 for books and supplies was awarded to seven additional scholars.
Since being founded, 10-20 students have been accepted annually to receive financial funding that will aid them through four years of college.
Mission: The Woodson Warriors Scholarships Fund’s mission is to invest in local African-American college scholars.
